About Back-House

Role Overview

We're hiring an Account Manager to take full ownership of a portfolio of restaurant clients. You'll be the primary relationship lead, working directly with owners to manage financials and drive execution on strategic projects. You'll operate as an embedded financial and operational lead, helping owners grow their business with the support of a Back-House Operations Associate, whom you'll direct on day-to-day account work. This role puts you at the center of NYC's independent restaurant scene with a front-row seat to how top hospitality brands are built and scaled.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple restaurant owners

  • Oversee weekly financial reporting, cash flow management, and ad-hoc modeling

  • Own strategic projects and operational initiatives – contributing ideas, managing timelines, and driving them to completion

  • Coordinate across teams (bookkeeping, marketing, tech, restaurant owners/staff) to ensure timely, high-quality delivery

  • Proactively flag opportunities to improve margins and efficiency, and drive solutions to client pain points

  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and internal notes for each account

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in client services, restaurant finance, or hospitality operations

  • Proficient in Google Sheets or Excel, and comfortable building and interpreting financial models

  • Able to read a P&L, identify inefficiencies, and communicate insights clearly to a non-finance audience

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Toast, Square, or MarginEdge preferred

  • Comfortable owning client-facing relationships and juggling competing priorities across a portfolio – managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables with careful attention to detail

  • Genuine passion for the restaurant industry and a desire to help operators build lasting businesses

Benefits

  • Potential equity participation

  • Monthly healthcare stipend

  • Paid vacation + sick leave

  • Professional development budget

  • Dining stipend across our client restaurants
